Trump Confirms Precision Strike Against ISIS Leader

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed the execution of a precision strike targeting a leader of the terrorist group ISIS and other members in Somalia. According to Trump, his administration had been pursuing this ISIS member for years, but he claimed that the Biden administration did not act swiftly enough. Al-Shabaab views ISIS as a significant threat in the region.

"I did it!" Trump emphasized, adding that the message to ISIS and other groups threatening the United States is clear: "We will find them. And we will kill them!" Initial reports from local media indicate that approximately six airstrikes were carried out in various locations in the Al-Miskaad mountains, specifically in the areas of Qurac, Buqo, Wangable, and Dhasaan.

The group known as Islamic State – Somalia Province is a faction associated with the self-proclaimed Islamic State, primarily operating in the Puntland mountains. Formed in 2015 after a split from the jihadist group Al-Shabaab, it briefly captured the port of Qandala in 2016.

In a message through his social media, Trump stated: "These criminals, hiding in caves, posed a threat to the United States and our allies. The strikes destroyed their hideouts and eliminated numerous terrorists, without causing collateral damage to civilians."

Under the leadership of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Mumin, the group is estimated to have between 500 and 700 fighters, including a growing number of foreigners, predominantly Ethiopians. Trump did not hesitate to criticize former President Biden, accusing him of inaction on this matter.
