Naval sources said on Wednesday that the European Union's anti-piracy force had dispatched a warship to the coast off Somalia after a group suspected of pirates tried to target ships in the area. "A naval source confirmed that EU Naval Forces have deployed a vessel to the area following several piracy incidents in the region," the statement said. Somali authorities and the international community have stepped up efforts in recent months to combat piracy off the coast of the country.
