Maritime security sources confirmed that a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier owned by the Japanese company NYK has successfully escaped pirates. The incident occurred off the coast of Somalia, when pirates in a fast-moving boat approached the vessel. The NYK-managed ship managed to evade its pursuers and continued its journey.
